Hi Murray. Hope you’re feeling better. I wanted to get your opinion on issue with a domain forward. The https://ccigreenheart.org domain is not redirecting to the new website, but is still redirecting to the old website. The reason is because the SSL certificate for the domain is expired. There are two options – we can purchase a new SSL certificate or we can update the public DNS record to point to the server hosting the new site and handle the redirect there.
Do we have a multi-domain/wildcard SSL certificate in place on WPEngine? I looked around on WPEngine, but couldn’t really tell. If we do, I was wondering if we could add http://www.ccigreenheart.org to it instead of purchasing a new SSL. Thanks!
I would think first about unique content / per domain – if we try to host the CCI GH content on two different domains, we’ll run the risk of being excluded from Google, due to content duplication.
I would suggest pointing the DNS, via an A Record to WPE and from their redirect the ccigreenheart.org to cci-exchange.com – but we should discuss this first to consider anything else that this might impact.
