For GHT, is it possible to create a page that is hidden from the menu and search, but accessible by visitors if they have the URL? WordPress provides a password protected option, but this isn’t an ideal solution because it isn’t very secure (password could easily be passed on). Basically, we want to create a page that can only be located if you have the URL, but is hidden from the site search and search engines.

security by obscurity is not so effective thanks to Google and other search engines - if the content of the page is sensitive, then it should be correctly secured. It is easy enough to add a page which is not in the navigation, however the footer search option will search all pages - all in all - it's going to require some changes to hide a page in this way - I would still favour securing with a password.

My only concern with the securing through password is that we won't be able to prevent people from giving out the password or publishing it somewhere like on Facebook. But this is very helpful - thanks.

What content will the page have?

Application materials mostly. I'll check to see how sensitive these materials are and if making the page inaccessible via the nav would be ok.

they're fine with the page being accessible via the footer search option.

This one is going to be pretty easy then – just add the page and don’t add it to any menus!
