Hi Murray. Would it be too complicated to remove the author from all blog posts? If so, please disregard – this is not that important.

Also, we want to change the background (remove the geometric pattern and replace with a solid color). I created a copy of the site and tested the update on the staging version. I was able to update the style sheet using the Editor in the dashboard and it worked. But I wanted to check with you first before updating on the live site. Is it ok if I update the background on the live site through the editor?

We can update the template to remove the reference to the author - this will be simple enough to achieve. For the background update - I will need to test the changes on the staging, replicate these locally and then push the changes to live - template changes cannot be made on staging without introducing errors to the process :)

Can you please confirm if the background was the only change that you made to the stylesheet?
  • Nelly
That's correct - the only change I made to the style sheet on the staging version was changing the background color.
  • Ray
Ok - I've replicated the changes locally and added the template change to remove the Author - I'll stage this all for testing - when you're happy we can push to live.

Please check the updated staged version of GHT2 – http://transforms.staging.wpengine.com/

Sorry about the delay - our email service has been updated and I haven't been receiving support notifications. Everything looks good. The only thing I noticed is that the author tag still shows up on the blog home page.
  • Ray
We've also hidden the author info on the blog home page.
