I get the following error when I try to update the primary menu on GHT: http://greenhearttravel.org/wp-admin/nav-menus.php

Server error:

500 – The website encountered an error while retrieving
http://greenhearttravel.org/wp-admin/nav-menus.php. It may be down for
maintenance or configured incorrectly.

I am trying to remove the “Happy Anniversary” campaign from the menu.

It would be better not to attempt to edit the menus on the production site until we’ve tested this – we’ll stage the site and fix up any problems we find.

Ok, I made the change without a problem on GH.info that is why I thought there wouldn’t be a problem on GHT. Let me know what I can do. Thanks.

This did not work. I removed the menu items (happy anniversary) but the navigation still displays the “Happy Anniversary” link. Here is a screenshot of the updated menu: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4Cra1MuvwBlUG5NbUNhZ241dm8/view?usp=sharing

This is ok now – seems to have made the change properly.

The problem seems to be caused by a fault in the Google Sitemap by BestWebSoft plugin which causes the save menu action to increase about 10 times the number of queries it runs – this is enough to crash the database server on most save requests – the quick fix is to disable the plugin – but we’ll need to find another to build the sitemaps.

Note, that we have removed this plugin, so you should be able to go ahead and update the menu
  • Ray
We’ve added a new sitemap plugin and confirmed this is not conflicting with the menu on save.
